In recent years there has been a growing awareness and appreciation of the benefits of using project management techniques across a wide range of business settings. On this practical course you will examine the role of applied project management in specific sectors and discover how to plan, control, monitor and deliver successful projects.

The course will help you gain the generic skills and understanding that you need to fulfill your particular business and organisational needs. In addition, you will gain experience with supporting software such as Microsoft Project Management.

Career Opportunities: Graduates will be ready to join the project management team in many different organisations – from SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) to the largest global corporations.

The programme will be taught by an academic team with extensive research and professional practice. All the tutors have the academic and industry knowledge and experiences to support your development. A strong supportive culture exists among the course tutors which enables you to grow and succeed.

On this career-oriented applied project management course, you will learn how to use structured concepts and frameworks to tackle unstructured, complex real-world scenarios. You can expect to see core theories reflected and tested in your case studies and in-course assessments.

Delivery model

Each module spans over 2 consecutive weekends per month (Fridays; 7-10pm, Saturdays & Sundays; 9am to 5.00pm) and includes a comprehensive coverage of 30 hours of face-to-face lectures that is complemented with online course support, additional readings and resource materials.

Fees

The total fees (inclusive of materials, assessment fees etc.) for the Master of Science in Applied Project Management are S$22,800 (before prevailing GST), payable in 4 instalments.

Admission Criteria

Participants are expected to contribute to the class learning experiences in a cohort and peer learning environment. You will be assessed based on experience, aptitude, potential and managerial skills.

  • At least 21 years old and
  • A degree in any subject or an equivalent management or professional qualification (with a minimum of 2 years working experience; or
  • Mature candidates lacking one of the above academic qualifications above may be considered for entry (subjected to university approval) if s/he has held a senior managerial position over three years and is able to demonstrate the ability to fulfil the objectives of the programme and achieve the standards required.
